Kenwick Medical Centre reopened its doors in November 2011 and has since provided a comprehensive medical service to patients in the surrounding areas. The practice is committed to quality service and best patient care.

APPOINTMENTS

Emergencies will always be given priority. In an emergency the doctor of your choice may not be available. You will be attended by the doctor on duty for the day. Extra time may be required for medical examinations, pap smears or counseling sessions. Although we try to maintain appointment times, it is not always possible to do so as some problems take more time to deal with than others. We ask for your patience and understanding. If the doctor is running late, It is usually due to an emergency, requiring urgent management.

HOME VISITS

Home visits are available for regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. The receptionist will obtain patient details to arrange for a doctor to provide the home visit or locum service (ALMS). The doctor will Endeavour to make the visit at the end of the session or at a mutually convenient time.

TEST RESULTS

All test results and reports are perused by the doctor before they are scanned, it is recommended that you make a follow up appointment to discuss the outcome of test results and be suitably managed. In some instances, the practice may contact you to notify you of some adverse results that need urgent attention.

REFERRALS AND PRESCRIPTIONS

As a general rule it is in your best interests to see the doctor if you require prescriptions or referrals. New referrals and prescriptions will not be issued without prior consultation.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATES

No medical certificate will be back dated. It is illegal to do so. Please consult the doctor at the beginning of your illness so that appropriate treatment and certification may be provided.

SENIORS AND DISABLED PATIENTS

We have a practice philosophy of being friendly and provide access ramps, wheel chairs, toilet access and other facilities within the surgery.

INTERPRETER SERVICES

If prior notice is given an interpreter may be arranged to facilitate patient consultation. A minimum of two weeks is needed for booking an appointment with the interpreter.
